Week two homework

1. Create the shadow brushes. Create at least one example of using at least one shadow brush.

2. Create the Rose Brushes and post an example of two different versions of your results with playing with it.

3. Create the brush shapes to make the flag brushes.  Experiment with some of the vector shapes and see what you can come up with.  Post a couple of examples of this.

Be as simple or as elaborate as you want.  Not all parts of these lessons will appeal to everyone but you are getting the idea of how to use different shapes and images to create your own images.

Note: Lots of pictures this week, so I'm using thumbnails on the page. Click on each picture to see the full sized version, then your back button to come back here.

The shadow brushes, used as a frame for last week's flower and as a calendar (which could be printed or used as wallpaper on your pc).

Rose layered brush  Second Rose picture from same brush
The rose brush. Got my copy of PSP8.1 and finally got to try the "Paint Behind" feature on the original brush. No remove white script, so I did a selection of white with a high tolerance, modify select similar, inverted, then flood filled with black to get the a black outline. Had to repair a couple of lines that decided to open up, but got a good working copy to make the layered brushes from. Used the circle shadow brush with a wood pattern for the background. The second image is just the rose brush and lowered density fill brush, inner beveled with the metallic preset before adding the leaves and stem, then adding two tiny roses in opposite corners.

My Flag Brush   Flag with Heart Field  Flag with triangle shadow shape behind heart and additional little hearts
My flag brush and variations. Made a heart, using a heart shape for the second image. Used the shadow triangle brush and additional applications of the little hearts for the third image.
